Donate your car
Thinking about selling your car, boat, motorcycle, truck, or other vehicle? Donate it to KLRN instead!
Take part in KLRN’s 1-2-3 Car Donation Program and support the television programs you love on KLRN, and receive a tax deduction when you itemize your return.
How it Works
All you need is a clear title, and we'll take care of the rest, including pick–up, at no cost to you. Once your vehicle has been sold, you'll be sent a receipt for your tax records, and the sale proceeds will be donated to KLRN in your name.

Questions
What can I donate? KLRN accepts cars, trucks and recreational vehicles. When you make an automobile donation your vehicle is resold at auction and the proceeds of the sale go to KLRN. Most vehicles are accepted except those that are heavily damaged or incomplete. The KLRN 1-2-3 Car Donation program accepts automobile donations in the KLRN viewing area — 30 south central Texas counties.
Are car donations tax-deductible? Yes, your donation qualifies as a charitable deduction on your federal income tax return, because KLRN is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
How do I donate a car? Call 1-866-KLRN-123 to make your donation. Have ready: the title to your car location of your car general condition of your car This information assists the tow company in scheduling appropriate towing arrangements.
My car does not run. Can I still donate it? The location and the condition of your car determine whether it can be accepted for resale.
Will you pick up my car? KLRN will send a tow truck to pick up your vehicle. The towing company will need: the car keys the title to your car your signature authorizing the tow A tow receipt will be given to you by the driver—verifying that your vehicle was received on behalf of KLRN.
How do I estimate the value of my car? The IRS allows you to take a charitable tax deduction on your federal income tax form for the fair market value of your donated vehicle. The condition of your car affects the fair market value. If the fair market value of the vehicle is $5000 or greater you must file the IRS Form 8283 with your tax return. Combined Federal Charitable Campaign
KLRN has been selected to participate in the 2009 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). To offer KLRN your support through the CFC, please refer to the station's CFC agency numbers on your employer giving form: CFC#: 40654
KLRN has not been selected to participate in the 2009 State Employees Charitable Campaign (SECC).
Please let us know if you become a member through the CFC campaign. To receive all member benefits, Federal employees participating in the annual campaign please provide KLRN with a copy of your CFC and your mailing address. Fax your form to (210) 270-9078 or mail to KLRN, PO Box 9, San Antonio, TX 78291-0009. Please send to the attention of the Membership Department.

Volunteer
The participation of volunteers from more than 30 communities throughout South Texas is an important part of KLRN's success. Volunteers are valued for their time, energy, experience, and expertise they share.

Television Membership Drive
